Hey I've been trying to play this and I'm a bit of an emulator rookie but when in Dragon universe mode and I fly for example to a city the game comes up with the loading screen and when that's done freezes I can't use mouse, alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del.

Returning Characters[edit]

Not that its a big deal or anything, but Omega Shenron (big guy with spikes) is not a new character, its hard but you can get him in the first Tenkaichi game. Because of this, im going to change it.Mystic Outcast 06:28, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

He's not playable at all in Tenkaichi. If you can show us some proof (preferable a video), I'll glady take back my claim. Until then, he's new. // DecaimientoPoético 06:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Character Numbers[edit]

Okay. I know what the box says. But I went through and counted all the characters on the list in the article, and I came up with 77 characters for the PS2 version, and 80 for the Wii version. I then counted all the characters again, this time considering each entry to be a seperate character (ie. Gohan (Base), and Gohan (SSJ) would be two seperate characters, and thus would count as one each). This resulted in a total of 131 characters, and 134 for the Wii version. So no matter which way you look at it, something is not right with the numbers listed on the article. I don't know how to rearrange the character list so that 120 seperate characters are listed, but there are clearly NOT 120 characters. Either there are a great number fewer, or a decent amount more. Unless I am completely mistaken, whoever advertised there as being 120 characters screwed up big time. For now I'm going to change the numbers to the larger ones, as that seems to be the most accurate way of counting the characters, but if someone can clear this up for me, it would be nice. After all, just because the box and commercials claim something is true, if the facts go contrary to the claims made on the box and commercials, then we should present the facts, since this is an encylopedia site, and not a 'list information only as it is presented by a certain video game company's advertisements' site.

Daishokaioshin 02:44, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

First off, there was no reason to assume that that was more than vandalism or a simple mistake, so you shouldn't be so offensive over it seeing as you left no sign of it in your edit summary. I don't feel like trusting the list here, so I'll use this page[1]. That shows 129 characters. Is there anything wrong about that page? And which list are you counting? The one in the article has 129, so your counting is off. Nemu 04:46, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
..How am I being offensive? o_o I asked if you had read the talk page before editting the numbers, since, if you have this article on your watch list, you would have seen that an edit was made to the talk page just as easily as you would have seen that an edit was made to the article itself. Don't be a spazz over me trying to make sure that you read my message.
And I'll count again, but I've counted SEVERAL times on this article, and I keep coming up with 131. 'daizex.com' is just some fan site, and is not a good source for basing numbers off of. In fact, I'll go start up the game and count the characters from there myself. And regardless, the point is that despite what the commercials and box for the game say, there are more than 120 characters, and the person who changed it from 129 to 120 was wrong. That's all I was getting at.
Daishokaioshin 07:06, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay. I counted the characters at the link you provided. I counted each of the pictures in the 'Regular Playable Characters' section, and came up with 135. 135 is not 129. Perhaps you should recount if you're going to use that as your source, rather than assuming that I'm wrong?
Daishokaioshin 07:20, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Offensive may have not been the correct word to use, but the tone of your message was definitely not friendly. It's sort of hard to see every change when you have a ton of stuff on your watchlist. If the message was mainly for the 120 guy, you should have 'attacked' him, not me.
I seriously don't have any clue on how you can get 135 from 32 rows of 4 + 1(the site). Have you counted slowly and accurately on the list here? I would assume you're counting too fast or counting something twice (like the transformations that split on to two lines). Nemu 14:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I noticed that you two were having an arguement over the amount of characters in the game and I don't know if you worked it out or not, but I went through the list and I counted 129 characters for the PS2 version and 132 for the Japanese Wii version. I counted about three or four times to make sure I was counting correctly and I even got my brother to count the characters we have in the game and we got the same results each time. I hope that this helps a bit if you two didn't already solve your problem. // Sasuke-kun27 17:11, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, Sasuke is right, it is 129 charecters for the PS2 version and 132 for the Wii version. I counted it at least 4 times and I all I came up with was 129 and 132. So the 120 problem may have been a typo or something, it happens. Johnny542 00:24, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Controller Question Repost[edit]

How does the Wii controller compare to using a classic controller for this title? Does it underscore a weakness of the Wii control mechanism, or can an advantage be gained by the player using it? I guess the base question that I wanted to see addressed about this game was that for the Wii, is a player better off playing with classic or standard controller? It would be good testament to the ability of this new control mechanism if 2 similarly skilled players could enjoy good competition with one another regardless of controller preference, and equally bad testament if a player with the Wii controller could never defeat a similarly skilled opponent using a standard controller..

EDIT: This question was removed because I was supposed to be discussing the article. I am. I am saying that this is something that should be addressed in the article. This belongs here because it is essentially the only game that allows a valid Controller type A VERSUS controller type B scenario.. it would not be hard for someone to link an article discussing the differences in the control mechanisms, or to include a 'Wii Controller Criticisms' topic to discuss the differences therein. It's valuable information that people want to know, say, if they are about to purchase a Wii and just want the facts. For example: If it is a fact that winning with a wii controller is unlikely, then I want to buy a classic controller when I buy the game. If this research hasn't been done or documented somewhere, so be it. JudgeX 16:48, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Character citations[edit]

As with Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, I believe we should start citing character appearances. This will be one of the many things people will be looking for when judging articles for GA status. I don't mind taking the liberty myself, though it would be helpful if others could help as well. If some are considering to lend a hand, here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. If you're using a book/magazine/etc or website for verbal or visual confirmation, provide as much information on the source as possible, meaning fill out every possible parameter in {{cite web|url=|title=|author=|publisher=|date=|accessdate=}}. More parameters can be seen on the respective templates' pages (Template:Cite book and Template:Cite web).
  2. It is okay to cite images from a website if integrated into an article, though please try to hold off citing image galleries, like the ones seen at IGN, until no more sources can be found.
  3. Never use a forum or fan site to confirm characters, especially ones such as AtariCommunity.com. While they may be a good place to hang out every once in a while, they are filled with fake scans and plenty of people are bound to fall victim. Also, please avoid using video streaming sites such as youtube; see Wikipedia:External links#Linking to YouTube, Google Video, and similar sites.

In time, we should be able to get this article to GA, and possibly FA, status. Good luck to us all. ^.~ // DecaimientoPoético 15:58, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Latin American Version?[edit]

I don't know if this should be included in the article, but I read in some sources that someone's developing a Latin American Spanish version of the game. Here's a link to the site, but I'm not sure if it's a reliable source. [2]Vic729 Oct. 07, 2007 17:59 (UTC)
